Victor Osimhen Confirms Desire To Play In EPL

In the midst of interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen stated that he would like to play in the Premier League someday.

The top player for Napoli, who recently signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him there until 2026, stated that he would like to play in the Premier League in the future. In recent months, the Nigerian international has been strongly connected to a number of elite European teams, including the English teams Chelsea and Arsenal.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the forward said, “I am happy with the president. I have a good relationship with him. I cannot lie. He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also and for me it is always important to make sure we have this good relationship, to make sure there is nothing wrong regardless of what has happened.

“So for me, ADL (Aurelio De Laurentiis) has been the kind of president who has been supportive to me outside the pitch and of course, I make sure I give my all and try to win the Scudetto for them. For me, it is always important to have this kind of relationship, to be happy with the owner of the club.”

On asked if he wants to play in the Premier League in the future, the Nigerian said, “Of course one day, definitely but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. So when the time comes, everyone knows.”

The 25-year-old’s new deal apparently has a huge €130 million (£112 million/$141 million) release clause, but the Blues might still make a play for him given his willingness to travel to England, even though his worth on the transfer market has grown. Real Madrid, who intends to give up on Kylian Mbappe, is also considering a move for the attacker.

Osimhen is now in the Ivory Coast for the AFCON tournament, thus for the time being he is still focused on his national team. The Super Eagles will play the hosts on Thursday after drawing 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea to start the competition.
