Unrepentant Prison Returnee Nabbed Again Attempting To Steal Cars

Is it a case of spiritual remoting by enemies or sheer greed that has made a prison returnee get back to the way of crime?

Well, only 57 year old Sunday Dosunmu could answer that question, following his arrest trying to steal cars using fabricated keys.

The Ogun State Police Command has today, said it arrested Dosunmu while he was trying to use fabricated keys to unlock cars at Leme area of Abeokuta.

SP Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),who stated this in a statement issued in Abeokuta, added that the suspect was apprehended in the act with his members of his syndicate.

Dosunmu had, last September, 17 been apprehended by the Divisional Police Officer of Kemta division of the command, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle.

 “The suspect was recently released from prison and had resumed same act he was previously arrested for.

“But on Saturday, at about 7:30 p.m. along Leme, Dosunmu in his habitual act was caught again by youths of that area while using fabricated master keys to unlock some cars.

 “People who saw him raised the alarm which made him to run. But how far can a 53-year-old man run.

“The young guys gave him a hot chase and caught up with him. They later alerted the police team which visited the scene and arrested the suspect,” the PPRO said.

Providing further information, she said two fabricated iron master keys, part of the instruments used to unlock unsuspecting car owners’ vehicles, were found in his possession.

According to the police spokesperson, police would prosecute the unrepentant prison returnee, even as the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, had directed that thorough evidences be provided towards the case.

This, according to him, is to ensure the suspect learns his lesson.

The Eagle reports a related incident last June whereby the police authorities in Ogun State paraded about 40 suspects for various crimes such as cultism, murder, and armed robbery.

The state Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, speaking at the parade, said the suspects had been responsible for various breaches of peace across the state in recent times.
