To Participate In 2025 Hajj, You Must Pay N8.7m

To be able to participate in the 2025 hajj pilgrimage, you have to be ready to dole out between N8.5million and N8.7 million, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has stated.

While intending pilgrims from Southern states expected to pay N8.7 million, their counterparts from Borno and Adamawa zones will pay N8.3 million.

The commission’s chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, stated these in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Usara.

Usman who described the fare as the result of extensive deliberations with key stakeholders, including the presidency and state pilgrims’ boards stated:

“The 2025 Hajj fare for Borno and Adamawa zone’s intending pilgrims is N8.33 million. Similarly, the cost for intending pilgrims from the Southern states is N8.78 million, while pilgrims from the Northern zone will pay N8.46 million.

“This modest effort was achieved after extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity in the decision-making process”

The Eagle reports the commission as praising the Chairman and his team for ensuring that the fee remained within the same range as previously charged.

The chairman thanked the presidency and other stakeholders for their support, emphasising that the commission remained committed to ensuring a seamless Hajj experience for all Nigerian pilgrims.

Advising those for the 2025 hajj pilgrimage to adhere to Saudi guidelines, he said they should register early, and make timely payments to avoid inconveniences.
