As the FA Cup final draws nigh, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has shared an update on the fitness of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

Prior to their crucial matchup with Manchester City in the FA Cup final, the Red Devils still have one more game to play. According to Ten Hag, the English pair may be eligible for the trip to Wembley even though they are out of the picture for their last Premier League match of the season against Brighton. Regarding whether the two will be in Gareth Southgate’s England side for Euro 2024, he also addressed inquiries.

Speaking to the media, Ten Hag said: “For England, I can’t say, it’s not up to me. But for the cup final, we’re working on [it].

“I think Harry Maguire, I think it’s a fair chance that he will be available. We plan [for] him. Luke is more complicated. In this moment, let’s say it’s a less chance that he will make it. But there is still a very small, reduced chance. He had a setback, now we have to find out how far [from a return] he is.”

Man Utd have missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, particularly in defence where players like Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Tyrell Malacia have all missed significant time. Ten Hag’s job security is probably dependent on the outcome of the FA Cup final because the injuries have also negatively impacted the Red Devils’ season.

Ten Hag’s team will now play Brighton at Amex Stadium on May 19, the final Premier League matchday. They will next get ready for the FA Cup final on May 25th, which is the Manchester Derby.
