The Eagle reports that the FUDMA management has come out to debunk the story.
A statement signed and issued to newsmen on Saturday in Katsina by Malam Habibu Aminu, the spokesperson for the University, said the Lawal Aminu in question was unknown to the institution..

“In the said posts, the unknown or rather ghost student who said he was disturbed by the ongoing ASUU strike decided to embark on a one-man protest in Abuja.
“Where he was said to have granted an interview to another unknown media platform in which several unfounded and mischievous issues like pursuing a Bsc Degree for 11 years at the university but could not graduate due to incessant strike actions.
“The story which came to us as a complete shock was false, full of lies, baseless, unfounded, misleading and mischievous crafted by the said ‘student’ and publishers of the so called interview for their selfish interest and a bad form of journalism.
“To any sane person, such claims wouldn’t have desired a reply because they may just be a waste of time but for the benefit of setting the record straight and clearing the name of our exalted citadel institution.
“First and foremost, the said person is not our student and it had never been in the history of our school that a student had spent 11 years doing a four-year Degree programme.

“The university as at today, has no any outstanding result just as even the last semester result of this session was approved before the commencement of this present strike action.”, he said.
“The public is hereby urged to disregard the purported story as it is completely concocted and may have been even sponsored by enemies of progress for their selfish interest.
“And to also draw the attention of the publishers, be it knowingly or unknowingly being used to cause chaos at our peaceful and law-abiding institute.

“The university management is urging the press to resist publishing unverified stories and rumours and to always verify all issues concerning us as our door is always open to meet with any enquiries.” , the spokesman said.
