Starting From Scratch: 190 Nigerians Repatriated From UAE

It may amount to life starting from scratch, for 190 Nigerians just repatriated from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Aside the fact that the 190 had been stranded in the Islamic republic, they are coming home to an economically challenging time.

There had been a soar away inflation in Nigeria for some time now, with many households complaining of difficulty in meeting basis obligations.

The apex labour unions in the country, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have been at loggerheads with the federal government concerning enhancement of salary for civil servants.

However, a statement signed by Mr Bashir Garga, the National Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) zonal director in the North Central, on Tuesday in Abuja, confirmed the repatriation of the 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates.

.The statement stated that the repatriated Nigerians were received by a combined team of government officials led by NEMA at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday at 5:57 a.m.

Upon arrival, they were profiled and documented by the relevant agencies/

They were equally tutored on the best way to behave now that they were back in the country.

“The Federal Government urges all Nigerians, wherever they may be, to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, by upholding the fundamental values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity,” the statement announcing the deportation said.
