Stampede In Egbeda As Lunatic Stabs Man

There was stampede in Egbeda area of Lagos this morning after a popular lunatic; simply identified as Bidemi stabbed a passer-by.

The incident happened at Ogunlana Street, near the bus stop, where some hoodlums had been arrested and were being taken away by the police.

The incident caused a stir as many people were either trying to catch a glimpse of the suspects or probably offer a word.

However, the suspected thief had left his pair of shoes behind while trying to resist arrest.

The lunatic promptly cashed in on the confusion and picked up the shoes, retreating to his section of the building where his father had bequeathed to him.

An eye witness told the Eagle that bystanders who sighted him taking away the shoes had reported the matter to the others, thereby attracting the wrath of Bidemi.

He was said to have promptly stabbed the unsuspecting young man on the shoulders, leading to bleeding.

Some good-hearted people rallied round and quickly rushed down the injured man to a nearby hospital.

At that point, Bidemi went berserk running after just anyone in sight armed with a cutlass.

The Eagle correspondent was reliably told that Bidemi is related to a former deputy governor in the state, and has been known to harass and attack unsuspecting people survey.walmart.com.

He is said to have two children, a boy and a girl but the wife left after his mental challenge began.

What many people found unusual however was that even police men could not contain Bidemi, with one wondering whether the law did not permit or authorise the police to arrest anyone causing a breach of the peace.
