Jose Mourinho is back in club management, with ‘The Special One’ reportedly agreeing a two-year contract at Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Following his January breakup with Serie A team Roma, the mysterious Portuguese has not been employed. The club great Daniele De Rossi took over as leader after he led them to victory in the Europa Conference League and the Europa League final.

Mourinho, who believes he is far from a finished product, stated he would be open to any tempting offers when saying goodbye to Stadio Olimpico. He promptly dissociated himself from rumours that he would join fellow national Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.

At one point, there was discussion of the former manager of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham coming back to England, but Gianluca Di Marzio says Istanbul will be his next stop. Mourinho has committed to a two-year contract there as Fener looks to improve on a 2023–24 campaign that saw them finish as runners-up in the Super Liga behind archrivals Galatasaray despite collecting 99 points and suffering only one loss.

Mourinho has a track record of success, having won trophies almost everywhere he has gone. He has won the Champions League twice, having played for both Porto and Inter. He also enjoyed real success while collaborating with Ronaldo and company at Real Madrid.
