Shocking – Okada Rider Rapes His Landlady To Death In Ekiti

Shocking is the simplest way to describe it, as a tenant, an Okada rider has raped his landlady to death. in Ado, Ekiti State.

The incident which happened at Olorunda area of the state last Thursday,  has left neigbours and other sympathizers traumatized.

The shocking incident occurred on Thursday.

The story is that the suspect, now on the run, took advantage of the fact that the woman was alone in the house. He had tied her up, after breaking into the house and warned her to comply after the woman tried  to resist the attack.

It is not clear why he still killed the woman after having his way, but a Vangurad report on the matter, learnt that the late woman was a mother of three.

The Eagle learnt that the alleged rapist fled the scene and out of the neigbourhood on bike.

It was also gathered that after the act, the tenant fled the house but some of his belongings were found in the room which suggested that he was responsible for the act. One of the children of the deceased who spoke with Vanguard said he saw the tenant on a bike while coming home but never knew he had killed his mum at home.

Her equally distraught husband and his children wept uncontrollably when they returned to learn what happened.

Recall that last June, the police arrested and arraigned a 65-year-old man, Bayo Akinwete, before an Ado Ekiti magistrate’s court for allegedly raping his own  five-year-old daughter.

The little girl, was to reveal to stunned neigbours that it had been going on before that time.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, told the magistrate’s court that the Akinwete committed the alleged crimein the Olorunsogo area of the town..

 “The victim told the police that she and her nine-year-old sister had been living with their father since their mother abandoned them with him.

“The victim alleged that her father once gave her alcohol to drink following which she slept off. She alleged that when she woke up, she saw him on top of her.

“The victim said her father used to tell her to hold and massage his manhood. The victim consequently reported her father to a neighbour, who reported the case to the police,” the police office stated.

The prosecutor, who said the offence contravened Section 31 of the Child Rights Law of Ekiti State, 2012, told the court that the duplicate file  of the case had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.

The plea of the accused was not taken.

The magistrate, Mrs. Kehinde Awosika, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending advice from the office of the DPP.
