Nature has again smiled on the man who brought the dreaded corona virus to Nigeria, as he has now tested negative.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, broke the news in Lagos.

He was speaking at a press conference in updating journalists on the efforts made thus far at containing the spread of the virus.

He said notwithstanding, that the relevant authorities would test the Italian agaisn to ascertain that all was okay before he would be allowed to go.

An Italian man was confirmed nigeria’s first case after he arrived from Milan and was travelling through Lagos and visiting another state before being isolated.

The host company, Lafarge later said it had identified people who had “direct contact” with him before carrying out “isolation, quarantine and disinfection protocol”.

The case, the first in sub-Saharan Africa, pushed Nigerian authorities to action, making all passengers who arrived on the same flight as the man to be checked and to identify the places he visited before being hospitalized
