Mikel Arteta, who is reportedly considering leaving Arsenal this summer, might be the next manager to announce his impending exit.

Following the announcements by Xavi that he will resign as Barcelona coach and Jurgen Klopp that he will quit Liverpool at the end of the current campaign, Arteta is the third high-profile player to be linked to an unexpected summer departure. Sport claims that the Spaniard has discussed ending his career at Arsenal after the 2023–24 season with those close to him.

The report claims that no one at Barcelona has contacted Arteta regarding taking over as head coach at Camp Nou, despite the fact that Xavi only announced his departure on Saturday. The former midfielder for Barcelona, Arsenal, and Everton is reportedly admired by president Joan Laporta, who thinks he would be a fantastic fit for the team.

Arteta joined Arsenal as head coach in December 2019 and has turned the north London team into Premier League title contenders, having been top of the table until late on last season before they missed out as Manchester City beat them to the crown. His team are still in the mix this season, but have fallen to third place and sit five points behind leaders Liverpool.

The north London side and Arteta have a deal that expires in the summer of 2025. He would have to work with the team to finish their nearly five-year association amicably if he truly wanted to leave the Gunners a year early.
