In line with the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has effected a change in the Prices of Meters effective from July 3, 2024.
This is under the The Meter Asset Provider (MAP) initiative of the Federal Government.
According to IEDC, “We are committed to ensuring a simple, seamless and effective process of Metering our customers”, it says.
It adds that metering process commences 10 working days after payment confirmation
Additionally, note that there is no application fee, nor processing fee, while meter cost would be refunded through energy credit
The Eagle findings show that the The Meter Asset Provider (MAP) Scheme was initiated by Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in a bid to close the metering gap and eliminate estimated billing.
Meter Asset Providers (MAP) are accredited third-party vendors mandated to finance, install, maintain and replace end-user electricity meters where applicable.
