School Shut Over Sexual Abuse Allegations Of 4 Minors

A private school battling sexual abuse allegations will remain shut until further notice, the local council has ruled.

Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State, Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu, ordered the closure of Al-Hadeed Private School until further notice.

This is alongside remand by a magistrate’s court, one of the school’s teacher, identified as Uncle Kamal, at the centre of the sexual abuse allegations.

Four minors are believed to have fallen victim of sexual appetites, and he would remain remanded while investigations continue.

Uncle Kamal was arraigned before a magistrate’s court on Monday for sexually abusing minors including: 7 year-old Hassana, Hussaina,Gambo and their 5 year-old sister.

Prosecution counsel, Badamasi Gandu, told the court that doctors have confirmed that the children were sexually assaulted before the suspect was brought to the court.

The council chairman has promised that the he would be made to face the full wrath of the law if found culpable.

He also restated the resolve of his council to ensure that the rights of children are protected at all times.

The teacher would remain remanded in a correctional facility, and would only know his fate on June 6 when the case was adjourned to.
