If you still remember the Consumer Violation Protection Case involving Ethiopian Airlines, here now is the latest about it.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has confirmed that that national carrier has paid the sanction airline has paid the sanction fees imposed on it for that violation.

Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, who made the announcement via his official X on Monday, provided other associated details.

He said with the payment, that all three international airlines sanctioned by the Authority in 2025 have now complied fully.

“The sanctions are intended to help improve the services of the operators and not to punish them,” he said. Achimugu explained, adding that the sanctions were not punitive but corrective.

They were aimed at improving service quality and ensuring that airlines operating in Nigeria adhere to established consumer protection standards.

The Eagle reports that Ethiopian Airlines was among four others who earlier in the year, were served letters of sanctions for various aviation operation breaches.

“Apart from this first set of sanctions, we are still gathering evidence and monitoring the officials to be able to come down harder on them in view to fine them a record N200m for their chronic infractions of the resolution”, Achimugu had said.

He said the NCAA took this action following reported unprofessional conduct by airline staff.
