In spite of a foot injury, Real Madrid player Aurelien Tchouameni is optimistic he will be ready to play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.

The French international’s left foot suffered a stress injury during Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich last week, raising questions over whether he would play in the June 1 final versus Dortmund. The 24-year-old is confident, though, that he will be prepared for the match at Wembley.

The defensive midfielder, who turned up on crutches to Madrid’s La Liga title celebrations over the weekend, told Spanish publication Marca: “I think I’ll make it to the final. I will be ready.”

According to Spanish reports, there was a 20% possibility that the former Monaco player, who signed with Real Madrid for an initial £68.8 million ($86 million) in 2022, would reach the Champions League final. Losing him would be devastating for Madrid, who are vying for a record-tying 15th championship in this competition.
