Real Madrid released an update on French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who sustained an injury while on national duty.

Following many medical examinations, the Spanish powerhouses provided an update on his injury on Friday, stating that the 21-year-old had sustained an external lateral ligament rupture in his right knee. The 21-year-old might miss eight to ten weeks of action as a result of the injury. He was hurt while working out with Les Bleus.

Real Madrid official statement read, “Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid medical services, it has been diagnosed that he has torn the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. Further developments are awaited.”

The youngster has been excellent for Real Madrid this season and gives Carlo Ancelotti a midfield and left-back option. He has made 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season. His absence will therefore be greatly felt, especially considering that fellow defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni suffered an injury that will probably keep him out for six weeks.

The goal of Madrid’s return of the midfielder is to prepare him for a speedy recovery.
