Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are plotting an ambitious €200m offer for Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal as they look to replace Kylian Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappe, who is expected to leave for Real Madrid in the summer, is being replaced by a player the Ligue 1 powerhouses are trying to find. The 16-year-old Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is reportedly the target of a big €200 million (£170 million/$218 million) bid from PSG, according to Marca.

According to reports, Barcelona is aware that the French team is interested in its star player, and Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, recently met with Joan Laporta, the club president, to formally advise him of the offer. The current La Liga heavyweights are unlikely to let go of the young player just a year after elevating him to the senior team, even in light of their financial difficulties. Having participated in 37 games in all competitions this season, the 16-year-old has had a fantastic run of play. He has four goals and six assists in 37 appearances.

Yamal has four La Liga goals so far this season, twice as many as any other player at the same age in LaLiga history. The forward does not turn 17 until July.

For now, though, Xavi’s team will want to qualify for the Champions League quarterfinals. They will play Napoli in the second leg of their round of 16 match on Tuesday.
