Pochettino In Frame To Replace Ten Hag As Ratcliffe Set To Initiate Formal Talks

Mauricio Pochettino may be headed to Manchester United, where it is said that they are considering hiring him to replace Erik ten Hag.

Pochettino departed Chelsea on Tuesday by mutual consent following just one season in command of the London team. According to The Sun, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has expressed interest in the Argentine manager taking over at Old Trafford this summer. Reports say the INEOS chairman is prepared to start official negotiations with the Argentine, who has also coached Tottenham in the Premier League.

Ten Hag may be let go by United following the team’s underwhelming Premier League season. The Red Devils faced Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday, and even though they finished ninth in the standings, they still have a chance to cap the season with a trophy. Pochettino has been linked with United several times in recent years. The former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain head coach was in the frame to take over at Old Trafford two years ago, but the club opted to appoint Ten Hag instead.
