‘Please, Come And Remove This Dead Body From Here’

‘Please, Come And Remove This Dead Body From Here’, appears to be the cry on the lips of residents of Isheri Olofin, an Ogun state neigbourhood bordering Lagos by the expressway.

They are crying out because of being exposed to the stench of a dead body believed to be that of a lunatic whose name could not be immediately confirmed.

The Eagle correspondent in the area reports that the death occurred four days ago, Under the Isheri Olofin bridge within the Ogun-Lagos boundary and the Ministry of Environment was yet to remove it.

However, residents confirmed seeing a mad man usually sleeping under the Berger bridge area in Isheri Olofin.

Our investigations show that the spot had become a nuisance on account of both the ordour and scare that the body now constitutes.

According to a resident around Isheri Olofin, Mr Hope Joseph, the corpse had started smelling and it is expedient it be removed before it becomes a source of cholera.

“We are calling on the appropriate body to come and remove it from this dead body from this place”, he said.

A few residents however expressed the hope that it had not become a thing of controversy which agency should remove the dead body given that it has been there now four days.
