‘Pique Lives In His Own World’ – Ancelotti Bites Back After Real Madrid UCL Criticism 

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has responded to Gerard Pique’s allegation that “nobody will remember” the 14th Champions League title win in 2021-22.

With their most recent Champions League trophy, which they won in June 2022, the Madrid giants made history. But despite Los Blancos’ constant miracles, Pique boldly declared on Catalan radio on Tuesday morning that Real Madrid’s current Champions League win in 2022 will not last long in the memory. Since then, Ancelotti has played down Pique’s remarks regarding his squad, implying that the former Barcelona defender is delusional.

“Pique lives in his world, which is not that of Real Madrid. I can assure you that there is not a single Real Madrid fan who can forget the fourteenth. It will be a Champions League that will be remembered for life,” Ancelotti remarked in a press conference.

The Spanish powerhouses are among the favourites to win an unprecedented 15th trophy at Wembley this season after a dominant group stage showing. For Los Blancos, the summer transfer window acquisition of Jude Bellingham, an England star, has been revolutionary. In his first 14 games in white and gold, the Englishman has already racked up 13 goals and three assists. Real Madrid is currently two points ahead of their Catalan rivals and two points behind Girona, the surprising table toppers in La Liga.

Real Madrid’s next game is on Saturday, November 11, against Valencia, in an attempt to pass Girona in the standings.
