PICTURES: Wreckage Of Military Aircraft Carrying VP Found
The wreckage of military aircraft carrying the vice president Malawi as reported on this platform has been found.
This is coming some 24 hours of that earlier report on the military aircraft carrying Malawi’s Vice president, Saulos Klaus Chilima, former first lady Shanil Dzimbiri and 8 others which had gone missing.
The aircraft got missing following a failed landing attempt Monday morning.
“All efforts by aviation authorities to make contact with the aircraft since it went off the radar have failed thus far,” the government had said in a statement.
The plane, had reportedly taken off just after 9:00 am local time (0700 GMT), carrying 51-year-old Chilima and nine others, before it was lost on the radar.

A frantic President Lazarus Chakwera had ordered regional and national forces to conduct an “immediate search and rescue operation to locate the whereabouts of the aircraft”, a government statement had said.
The Eagle reports that that directive has yileded result as the latest is that the wreckage of military aircraft involved has been found.
