Photos: How Kogi Pastor Murdered Many Church Members By Giving Them Miracle Water
Security authorities have come to the aid of citizens of Okene local government area of Kogi State who reported the conduct of a clergyman, Pastor Peter Michonza who is the founder of New Jerusalem Deliverance Ministry, in the area.
The self-acclaimed Man of God was alleged to be operating a labor wards for pregnant women in his church.
The pastor was also accused of selling “bulletproof” water to the people, amongst other medically unacceptable practices which have reportedly led to so many deaths.
Following the calls on the state government, the Christian Association of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Medical Association to checkmate the activities of the pastor after the video of him selling “bulletproof water” went viral.
Pastor Peter has been in custody for about 15 days now.

In September 19, 2022, following an uproar from the individuals of the local government and the council chairman about the church’s behaviour under hte Pastor Peter’s management. The suspect was alleged of running labour wards for pregnant women in his congregation and selling ‘bullet-proof’ water to the public, among other activities such as success miracles and business-enhancing water that reportedly resulted in the deaths of many people.
On Thursday, the Chief Magistrate, Abdul Umar, arraigned the cleric following an ex parte application filed by the DSS to allow the agency to continue its inquests.
These was to allow for investigation to get to the bottom of the problem, which also included questioning victims’ families. In the proposal, the accused was alleged of culpable homicide, miscarriage, and impersonation, all of which are subject to punishment under sections 224, 232, 433, and 325 of the Kogi State Penal Code.
Lawrence Ilobuni, the accused’s counsel, stated that his client was detained by the DSS on September 19, 2022, and has since been held in the their captivity wihtout court hearing. he clais that this is against the law because no suspect should be held for that long without the opprtunity to defend himself.
According to him, he confronted the magistrate to file an application for bail because the accused had remained in custody foe more than the required nuber of days without being charged in court. however, Iibuno stated that he was held in custody based on the DSS application. The case eas postponed until October 20, 2022, for further consideration.
This online media platform recalls that Michonza had earlier, in a protest rally with his members in Okene, called for the release of International Musician, R.Kelly who was recently jailed over child pornography and rape allegations.
