Following Manchester City goalless draw with Arsenal, Pep Guardiola feels Liverpool are now the overwhelming favourites to win the Premier League.

Liverpool is currently two points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the league, with City one point behind, following their 2-1 victory over Brighton on Sunday and their goalless draw with their fellow championship contenders later in the day.

With nine games left to play, Guardiola feels Liverpool have a big advantage in the bid to take home the English crown. He thinks his own side are now the third favourites, admitting they have let control of the race fall out of their hands.

Asked if he thinks Liverpool are the favourites to win the title, Guardiola agreed, telling Sky Sports: “They are in first position. They are top of the league so that is how it is. There are still nine games to go so we will see what happens.”

He added in a press conference: “Arsenal are the second favourites, we are the third. Whoever is top is favourite. It was in our hands. Now it’s not.”

When City plays Aston Villa on Wednesday, who are five points behind them in fourth place, they will be hoping to avoid making another mistake. Liverpool will play Sheffield United on Thursday, while Arsenal will travel to Brighton the same evening.
