#Ondodecides2024: Gun-Shot Fires, Vote Buying, In Ondo Election

The 2024 Ondo Election to pick a governor, went underway this morning characterised by reports of irregularities here and there.

The allegatos border on, amongst other issues, allegations of vote buying, arrest of hoodlums and gunshots scaring potential voters away.

Various reports from Punch and Vanguard indicated allege vote buying at such Wards as 02, Polling Unit 3, Eruoba, and Polling Unit 17, Egbedi Ward 11, Owode Imuagun, Akure

The two polling units are located in Arakale Market Area in the Akure Local Government Area of the state.

At Eruoba Ward, voters were paid an undisclosed amount after casting their vote by a man designated for the assignment.

But at Owode Imuagun, voters were writing down their names after voting.

Thereafter, they were directed to a nearby building where they received an undisclosed amount of money.

Meanwhile, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission were observed along Arakale Road monitoring voting.
