Why is everybody online talking about Natasha and 2Baba?
The story of Natasha reportedly introducing herself at the Edo State Assembly without using 2Baba’s surname, is attracting attention online.
Natasha, you may want to know, is fully Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, politician and wife of popular Nigerian musician 2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Ujah Idibia.
She is an Honourable, representing Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly and has served as the assembly’s minority leader.
Reports have it that Natasha recently introduced herself during an assembly session as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru”, without using the Idibia surname.
This attracted attention because she had previously referred to herself as “née Idibia” during an assembly session in April 2025.
People began speculating about her relationship with 2Baba, especially after she was absent from his recent birthday celebration.

Divergent arguments are already trailing the development. While some question her attitude of distaning herself from Tubaba, others say there is nothing wrong in that.
For them her use of the Osawaru surname does not prove that the couple have separated. Neither partner had publicly confirmed a separation in the report.
But here’s the question: should the way a woman introduces herself really become a topic of public discussion?
What do you think? should celebrities be expected to use their partners’ surnames, or should that decision be entirely personal?
In an Instagram video yesterday, she had introduced herself as risen in support of a bill.
Seeking strengthened state’s response to emergencies.
“Mr Speaker, my name is Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, member representing the very great people of Egor Constituency and, by God’s grace, the minority leader of this House,” she said.
“Mr Speaker, I rise this morning to support the second reading of this bill because it is timely.
“The majority leader highlighted that Section 14, subsection 2(b), of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, clearly states that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government
“Every rainy season, our people from Auchi, Ekpoma, Benin City and other parts of the state suffer from flooding, erosion, fire outbreaks, building collapse and communal crises
“Mr Speaker, as we speak, we have no strong, legally backed state agency that can respond proactively. Hence, this bill is timely” ”, the Instagram video had shown her saying.
However, many have been drawn more to her dropping 2Baba’s name that merit or other wise on what she said on the floor of the house.
