Out of the sixteen countries that will compete in the Olympic men’s football competition in 2024, twelve have already been confirmed; four spots need to be determined prior to the Games this summer. Notably, the Dominican Republic and Ukraine will also be competing in their first tournament in France, but defending champions Brazil have not confirmed their spot.
The AFC U23 Asian Cup, which will take place from April 15 to May 3, will determine the fate of three of the final four slots. Guinea, who came fourth at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, or the fourth-placed team from that competition will contend for the final spot. There is currently no official date established for the play-off match between the two teams in France.
