The Npower payment updates and application process is a guide on interested Nigerians who enlisted with the programme.

An important programme of the federal government to provide economic succor to Nigerian youths particularly and the unemployed generally, there had been similar initiatives of the government to create jobs and fight idleness and crime amongst youths.

Quoting the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) it said that from 33.3 percent in Q4 of 2020 Nigeria’s unemployment rate stood at 5.3 percent (Q4 2022) and 4.1 percent (Q1 2023), based on the new Nigeria Labour Force Survey (NLFS).

Egbuwalo said this during a meeting with some beneficaries in his office in Abuja, adding that the main purpose for the temporary suspension of the programme was to address all matters directly affecting beneficiaries with keen focus on the issues of delayed payments of stipends.

DISBURSEMENT OF 9 MONTHS OUTSTANDING PAYMENT

One of the latest on the Npower payment updates and application process is the statement Dr Egbuwalo, that as a result of the temporary suspension of the programme for thorough restructuring and forensic audit, funds have been recovered from the existing payment service providers.

Also, he said plans have been put in place to commence disbursement of the 9 months outstanding stipends to beneficiaries by November, 2023.

The payments would be carried out in installment, he had said.

While assuring all beneficiaries of transparency and accountability, Egbuwalo stated that in line with the new agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Npower programme Would be continued as Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP).

It will now be under the supervision of the Honourable Minister, Dr Betta Edu.
