The Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos, Nigeria is about its first ever edition of Inter-Students Debate
The debate themed ”The role of media in the political dispensation of Nigeria” organised by the Students Representative Council(SRC) is set to take place on Wednesday 25, 2023.
The debate involves both full time and part time of the Institute ranging from National Diploma 1 students to the Higher National Diploma 2 graduate students.

The president of the council, Idera Eluwande, an HND 2 student had announced during the students carol service last year, that the debate was being sponsored by Cowbell and SevenUp bottling company.
She also disclosed that Morayo Afolabi, a popular TV host of ”Your View” would be one of the guests on that day.
In preparation for the debate, the students council had organised mini debate in each class to nominate participants of the official debate.

In an interview with Olaosebikan Taiwo, the vice president of the Students Representative Council (SRC) on the aim of the Inter-Students Debate, he said:
”The aim is to test the competence of the Nigeria Institute of Journalism students”.
He also said it was to promote relations amongst the students.
