Nigerian-born Us Azubuike has called on Nigerians who have an interest in joining the United States army to contact her.

 

Gen. Azubuike also said there are many opportunities in the US army, adding that it could help anyone achieve his dream.

TheEagle recalls that Amanda Azubuike, a senior officer in the US Army, was recently promoted to the Brigadier General rank.

Azubuike also shared the story of how she joined the US army even before she became a citizen of the country, adding that her family and faith in God helped in propelling her career.

The newly decorated senior army officer said there are many opportunities in the U.S army notwithstanding one’s occupation.

Gen. Amanda who disclosed this via a post on her official Linkedin account, said: “We have many opportunities for those looking for a sense of purpose and service.

“As I found out very early in life, the Army has many opportunities, and many occupations, and we award many scholarships.

“Please contact me if you or someone you know wants to be an Army officer. Regardless of how you define success, the Army can help you get there – we want to be part of your journey!”

 

South-East Indigenes Shun Nigerian Army Recruitment, Fail To Meet Quota

Meanwhile, the South-East geo-political zone has been reported to have less number of youths enlisting in the Nigerian Army to meet its quota in the ongoing recruitment exercise.

This TheEagle gathered as a result of ethnic and religious prejudices, inadequate equipment to prosecute assignments, and hoarding of vacancies.

 

The Enugu State government had on Saturday morning expressed worries over the inability of the state to fill its quota in previous recruitment exercises.

The government, while announcing the expected visit of a team from the Army Headquarters to the state, urged Enugu youths to take advantage of the ongoing recruitment exercise to be enrolled into the army.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Steve Oruruo, urged those interested to seize the opportunity and register.
