BY AHUNANYA FAITH CHINWENDU
Two friends had to be rushed to the Blue Cross Hospital in Ogba Lagos on New Eve following a bloody fight over a girl at a carnival on Odebiyi Street.
An eyewitness told The Eagle Correspondent that it was a quick transition from an atmosphere of fun and merriment to that of fight as the two youngmen simply identified as Akintunde and Basiru went for each other’s jugular.
They almost lost their lives our correspondent learnt.
It was said that Akintunde had arrived the venue of the street carnival in company of his younger sister only for Bashiru to show interest in the girl.
It was not clear whether booz was at work, but Bashiru promptly approached the young girl soliciting for a romantic affair, a move that did not go down well with Akintunde.
He (Akintunde) confronted Bashiru angrily urging him to steer clear of his sister.
One thing led to another with Bashiru retaliating with a punch on his face.
The situation got worse that the both of them stabbed each other.
It was gathered that the confrontation would not have degenerated if security men had intervened on time but by the time they did, the brawlers had sustained serious injuries.
An eyewitness who simply gave her name as Favour said they had to be rushed down to the Blue Cross Hospital for treatment.
