Names Of Suspects, List Of Items Recovered From EndSARS Looters
Names of ten suspects[==us the list of items recovered from them following the EndSARS protests in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital have been released.
The state Police Command which released list said the suspects allegedly infiltrated the #EndSARS protest eventually indulging in looting and vandalism of property in Uyo.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Andrew Amiengheme, who made this known on Saturday in Uyo in a press statement, said ttuation was however partly saved by the timely deployment of Anti-Riot Policemen in collaboration with sister security agencies.
Mentioning the sister agencies to include the Army and DSS, as well as the efforts of the State Government, he listed the suspects to include:
Victor Effiong ‘m’; Emediong James ‘f’; Imedimfon James ‘m’; Isaac John Udoh ‘m’; Sunday James ‘m’;Wisdom Reuben ‘m’; Ntiefon Robert; Akaninyene Livinus ‘m’; Imoh Sunday; and Isaac Sunday Udo ‘m’.
Amiengheme said that the Police also recovered stolen property worth millions of Naira, including 14 Deep Freezers, six Refrigerators, eight flat Screen Televisions, four water dispensers, 16 bags of rice, four Air conditions, one printer, chairs and other items.
“Some youths with evil intentions in the guise of #ENDSARS went about vandalising, looting and burning some Government and private property including the Akwa Ibom State Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC), Anchor Insurance, De Choice Shopping Mall, L.G showroom, and Access Bank Plc.
“I have visited all the said places today with my Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Auwal M. Mohammad, and have made an on-the-spot assessment of damages done.
“I commend the State Government’s timely intervention through the imposition of curfew, as of today, I went round to ensure strict compliance, and we will continue to do so,” he stated.
He said the Command’s efforts have yielded positive results leading to the arrest of the suspects.
“I am delighted to inform you that our quick deployment of Anti-Riot Policemen in conjunction with the efforts of sister security agencies such as the Army and DSS, and the efforts of the State Government has restored normalcy in Uyo and the State in general,” he said..
Much more than that, the command is also giving assurance to all peace-loving residents of the state that it would not allow anyone to derail the peace for which the state was known, while imploring trouble makers to steer clear of the states.
