Naira Scarcity: They Want To Attack Banks Here, We’re Ready For Them -Police
Trouble makers seeking to capitalise on the Naira scarcity to attack banks have been asked to shelve their plans as the police is ready for them
The police command in Ogun made the assertion today adding that the trouble makers would not be allowed to take undue advantage of the lingering cash and fuel scarcity to cause breach of public peace.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, made promise in a statement issued today in Abeokuta.

He said intelligent report available to the command, has spoken of plans by some to cause mayhem, including attacking banks and other public and private infrastructures.
He revealed that the Commissioner of Police, had also spoken at a confidence-building patrol conducted by the police and other security outfits.
He commended the residents of the state for their resilience and peaceful conduct in the face of the biting economic challenges, assured residents of the command’s resolve to protect lives and property.
According to him, the naira scarcity or challenge of obtaining fuel notwithstanding, that the police would not fold its arms and allow criminals to hide under any guise to unleash mayhem on residents, private and public property, and critical national infrastructure.

He said Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), have been directed to arrest any person or group wanting to foment trouble and cause breach of peace in any part of the state.
The police spokesman also sought the cooperation of the public, especially parents, guardians and other stakeholders toward ensuring peace.
