My 8 Ordeals Trying To Conceive–Actress Dayo Amusa

Popular Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has recounted trying times, which by our random count, amounted to 7 ordeals trying to conceive and before she could give birth to a baby girl last November.

This much she shared on her instagram page, where she also asserted:

“I never thought I would get to this moment but God knew.

“For as long as I can remember I knew I wanted to be a complete idea woman (a wife and mom). Having had 3 miscarriages, in 2015, I was diagnosed with uterine myomatosis, and some doctors recommended removing my womb due to the complications and discomfort I experienced every month during my menstrual cycle.

“I decided to fight and reject that option”, she said.

It was indeed a joyous moment for her and her fans when on November 18, 2024 in far away, The United States of America (USA) she put to bed a baby girl.

Before now, the lady had undergone a series of challenging experiences as she disclosed in the Instagram post.

1. She experienced three miscarriages
2. She was diagnosed of uterine myomatosis, which also threatened her chance of conceiving.
3. Medical experts also advised her to undergo a hysterectomy due to recurring complications and excruciating menstrual pain.
4. She also traveled to the United Kingdom, where she underwent surgery to remove tumors.
5. In 2016, she discovered that one of her fallopian tubes was damaged, making natural conception nearly impossible.
6. In 2019 she went for IVF which failed and this also threatened her marriage
7. He husband once suggested having a child with another woman.
8. She experienced a decline in her mental health.

Of course, her faith in becoming a mother was solid rock and she never entertained any suggestion that could jeorpadise that.

“In 2016 myself and my then partner decided to try again as we were so eager to welcome our 1st child together but later discovered one of my tubes was broken and it would be almost impossible to get pregnant naturally… Men as men, my then partner was involved with another woman unknown to me which produced a baby boy. After so many ups and downs, back and forth, na so the whole thing ended (Story for another day).”

Dayo Amusa also used the opportunity to express gratitude to her mother, for recognising her declining mental health and encouraging her to relocate to the United States in 2021 for a fresh start.
