Muslim Council Denies Tinubu Over 2023 Presidential Ambition
Even if the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in the race for 2023 presidency, he does not have the support of the Kano Council of Ulamas.
This is official and coming from no other quarters than the council’s Chairman, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil during an interaction with newsmen in Kano, today.
Tinubu was in Kano on Friday where he attended a wedding Fatiha of Sheikh Muhammad Bn Usman’s daughter.
But the Islamic leader said: “He was subsequently notified about the wedding of Sheikh Muhammad Bn Usman’s daughter which he promised to attend.
“Hence during the visit, Tinubu expressed willingness to visit the Ulamas which was practically impossible for him to go from house to house.
“There and then some of the clerics that were part of the visit to Lagos were assembled and Tinubu came with governor Abdullahi Ganduje. It was there one of the clerics, Shehi Shehi lauded Tinubu for the support he gave Buhari in 2015 which led to his electoral victory, noting that we would always appreciate you and return your gesture.
“So, it is funny for the media to now report that Ulamas in Kano endorsed Tinubu, some of the Ulamas are not even in support of APC, while some even in APC have their solidarity for others.”
Recall that Bola Ahmed
The issue of endorsement, he said was untrue.
“Bola Tinubu was in Kano to attend wedding Fatiha of Sheikh Muhammad Bn Usman’s daughter, a political gathering at Mambayya House by Buhari Supporters group and to reciprocate the visit of some Muslim groups across Nigeria that visited him and the Oba of Lagos after the EndSARS protest in Lagos over the loss of lives and properties.
“Some Muslim organisations including clerics from Kano visited Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oba of Lagos after the EndSARS protests in Lagos where he was commended for the support he accorded Buhari that led to his emergence in the 2015 general elections.”
“I am so overwhelmed with this visit as I never expected it, hopefully, I am going to return the visit.’’

The 24-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender is keen to play at the highest level and thinks he’d be a good fit for clubs in England
Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah says he would be a good fit for the Premier League, which he believes is the league in the world.
The Germany international was linked with a move to Leicester City during the summer transfer window, with Arsenal also reported to be showing an interest in him earlier in the year.
Tah, 24, believes the English top-flight is the best league of all and is confident he would suit many clubs

“The Premier League appeals to me, it has always been like that. I always had the feeling that my style of play would suit England well,” he said in an interview with Goal and SPOX .
“The physicality of the league and the need to think quickly are qualities that suit my game. Opinions differ as to which league is the best in the world – for me it’s the Premier League.”
The former Hamburg defender has played just five times in the Bundesliga this season, though he has been a regular in Peter Bosz’s side throughout the Europa League group stages.
Tah made his debut in the Bundesliga for Hamburg at the age of 17 and was hailed as one of his country’s most promising players.
He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract with Leverkusen, but he hopes to make a step up to the highest level of the game before too long.
“It may sound strange because I haven’t played that often lately, but I’m convinced that I can reach the top level in football,” said Tah, who was recently the subject of a documentary in which DAZN followed him for a year.
“I’ve made a step forward, both on a sporting level and personally, but I don’t know where I’ll end up in the end.

“I have to be convinced that a transfer will help me. It depends on whether the club has their own philosophy or makes their philosophy dependent on the coach.
“Then the question arises as to which system the coach uses and what he expects from his players, especially in my position.
“Of course, how the team is set up is also very important. How big is the competition in my position, which guys would I play with? So there are some factors to consider.”
