Musical Extravaganza As The Eagle Awards & Banquet Holds In Lagos
BY IBRAHIM KEGBEGBE
Stage performance by different music acts was a major highlight of The Eagle Awards & Banquet which held last Sunday March 8, 2020 in Lagos,
The Lagos Country Club in the GRA area of the state was literally lit up, when the musical acts came to stage at intervals in the organizers’ bid to effectively spice up the day.
Some of the performances were by awardees and this included the Choral Music group of the year, Mountain Top Choral, which not only braced the venue early, but waited patiently to take on the stage.
Their renditions were unique, and helped to set the right musical tone for the awards presentations.
The Eagle reports that about thirty member contingent gave a good account of the team with their spicy gear and demonstrative choral music performance elated the guests.
GYC, an hip-hop artiste, gave a good account of himself with energetic runs round the stage and melodramatic performances in delivering his songs.
His was, obviously music for the young and the young at heart.
Budding journalist and musicians, Mary White, who played along her guitar rendered soul songs proving that she is a singer with huge promise.
She was like a revelation recently when the students’ body of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) held its week in the school compound in Ogba.
And if his act at the show was anything to go by, upcoming singer, Legzie may not need to talk much next time to be part of any musical itinerary; he indeed justified the time allotted to him at the show; so was Josephine.
Dextop, the Comedian equally had the audience at their wits’ end with rib-cracking jobs.
The entire entertainment package was such that the guests wanted more, even with some awardees and their guests desiring that the honours’ list be done with first.
At least, the point was made and clearly too, that awards could indeed mix better with music and entertainment.
