DSTV Subscribers

It is smiling time for DSTV subscribers following a latest action by the pay Television company towards its clients.

It just slashed the price of DSTV decoders by 50%: in other words, subscribers are now to pay N10, 000 as against the previous rate of N20, 000

“We want to ensure our customers feel appreciated and have access to the best entertainment every day”, the Chief Executive Officer, John Ugbe, said in a statement yesterday.

“The ‘We Got You’ campaign is about making premium content more accessible and showing that DStv offers something for everyone, not just football fans”, he said.

“By repositioning itself as a platform for daily value, DStv aims to encourage content discovery across a wider array of genres, including movies, drama, kids’ programming, and news.

“This means more channels, more shows, and more reasons to tune in every day,” the statement added.

Coming at a time of immense economic challenge which is forcing many households to axe supposed luxuries, the Multichoice move can be described as a strategic business move.

It is expected to woo back many to its bouquet offering, even as it has admitted that the move is taken in clear appreciation of current economic realities.
