MTN Commence Applications For Music Scholarship 2022

MTN Foundation has commenced application submissions for the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) scholarship programme 2022.

Commenting on the scholarship, the executive secretary of MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, said: “seeing our young scholars succeed in many genres of music around the world has been motivating. Many young Nigerians lack access to affordable and quality music education.

“We call on talented young Nigerians to maximise this opportunity. At the MTN Foundation, we are thrilled by the talent we see yearly and are looking forward to helping a new crop of individuals realise their aspirations.”

Calls are currently being accepted for the MTN-MUSON Music Scholarship Programme 2022, according to Sanya, as applications will close on August 21, 2022.

The executive director stated that qualified applicants must hold a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) with credits in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language. He also stated that applicants must hold a Higher Pass Certificate in Music (Practical and Theory) from one of the three organizations that are authorized to administer music examinations: Trinity, ABRSM, or MUSON.

The scholarship, now in its 16th year, offers young, talented, and qualified Nigerians the chance to study music for two years at the premier music academy in Nigeria, MUSON, and graduate with an internationally recognized Diploma in music.
