Miscreants Intimidating, Stealing From People Meet Their Waterloo

Nemesis has caught up with some miscreants who had gone on an extortion spree in the Baruwa area of Alimosho, Lagos today, as they have been arrested.
They were unleashing mayhem on people and getting away with it, before taking on their match without knowing. It.
The man, a police in mufti is attached to the office of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Squad, and was on his way home from work when he ran into the miscreants.
An eye witness who gave her name as Mrs. Yetunde Olugbemiga, said, “ the hoodlums ordered him to stop but he refused. They started hitting his vehicle with sticks and rods, in order to force him to stop but he kept moving and was making calls at the same time.
He drove for a while and stopped. “In no time, some policemen stormed the area. The hoodlums did not know that the first set was policemen because they were in a private vehicle. By the time they realised who their guests were, it was too late, as some of them were arrested while others escaped.
It was after they were arrested that we realized that the man earlier attacked and injured, was a policeman”.
Police sources confirmed that the suspects were whisked to the IRT office in Ikeja.
The Baruwa incident is just one of the several cases that have been taking place in the last few days.
Even with the police high command, mobiisisng more men to Lagos, analysts are of the view that much more pragmatic solution may have to be found before the matter goes out of hand.
Opinions pieced together indicate that it had become easy to swell the rank of the miscreants on account of the hunger in the land, occasioned by the lockdown.
Even as the government has approved palliatives to help cushion the impact, failure of very many vulnerable people to access it has let to even more incensed feelings amongst the masses.
