Menorrhagia -Rush To The Doctor Once You See These Signs

Menorrhagia -Ladies should know that their bodies and physiological makeups are peculiar, far different from those of men.
For example, men do not experience monthly flow like women. Though normal, the monthly flow could become an issue of concern when accompanied with other signs. Rush to the doctor when such abnormalities show up. It is considered abnormal for the flow to last longer than seven days. Also, seeing your tampon or sanitary towel fully soaked within an hour or two is also considered abnormal. People who experience such have Menorrhagia and need to see a doctor as soon as possible.
What is Menorrhagia?
Simply, a menstrual flow with prolonged and abnormal bleeding. Experts provide further details in enabling understanding.
Also, the release of excess blood during a woman’s external activities, Medical News Today has said that Menorrhagia is one of the most common gynecological complaints, affecting more than ten million women.
While speaking about related issues and symptoms of hormone dysfunction, Medical practitioner, Dr Adeshola David, revealed that menorrhagia is a gynecologic complaint that comes up as a result of loss of excess menstrual blood than average loss during menstruation.
Menorrhagia is one of the gynecologic complaints which affects average women in their teens, 20s and 30s, in either minor or severe/ extreme cases, menorrhagia needs immediate and adequate medical help and attention because of the symptoms of excessive loss of blood and others
Various sources proffer increasing insight adding it indicates a dysfunctional change in normal hormonal activities of a woman. It relates to a condition that causes hormones to become imbalanced and bleeding, as so menorrhagia is as a result of hormonal imbalance.
Associated symptoms include heavy vaginal bleeding, the passage of larger blot clots, anaemia, pelvic pain, tiredness
Peculiarity of conditions
The Centres for Disease Control submits, that finding out if a woman has heavy menstrual bleeding often is not easy because each person might think of “heavy bleeding” in a different way
Speaking on severe cases, Dr Malomo Peters said that women need to be fully aware not just assume that prolonged flow is normal and if the symptoms of menorrhagia persist, immediate medical attention is advised.
Rufai Bose, a matron said that cases of menorrhagia can be life-threatening and most females are not fully aware of the consequences and it is not something that cannot be self-controlled or self-managed except through medical treatment.

Different females suffering from the dysfunction shared their experience about how they feel, they said that bleeding lasts longer than 7days, two weeks or extreme case months which is always accompanied by pain, discomfort, an inconvenience that disrupts their everyday activities.
A woman who once treated the dysfunction, Adediran Esther, revealed her case was severe and she initially did not know she was suffering from the dysfunction. She bled firstly for a month and the same occurred in the next period and when it was becoming frequent and she was becoming pale and weak, she sought help medically.
She added that she was treated with drugs and injections to correct the dysfunction and regulate the flow.
Medical practitioners advise that there should be general awareness amongst women about the hormonal imbalance and that early signs, symptoms of menorrhagia should be paid attention to and adequately treated to prevent loss of life and also traces of infection should be properly treated.

According to Healthline, lists a number of first line treatments for menorrhagia. birth control pills, prostaglandin inhibitors (NSAIDs, ibuprofen and naproxen sodium, oral and tranexamic acid are part of the remedies that it mentioned for menorrhagia.
