Who were the best players in this week’s UEFA Champions League matches? Four of the eight quarterfinalists have already been determined.

The quarterfinal slots are half complete following an entertaining week of UEFA Champions League action, with victories this week guaranteeing a spot for Paris, Bayern, Man City, and Real Madrid.

Harry Kane scored two goals as Bayern defeated Lazio 3-0 at home on Tuesday to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. The team had previously lost the first leg of the competition. In the meantime, Man City and Paris easily defeated Real Sociedad and Copenhagen, respectively, to advance to the next round. Conversely, Real Madrid barely made it through after a 1-1 draw with Leipzig on Wednesday, winning the match 2-1 overall.

Despite his impending summer departure, French star Kylian Mbappé shown that he still has a significant role to play for the Ligue 1 champions. In Tuesday’s 2-1 victory at the Reale Arena, he was the main attraction as his team advanced 3-1 overall. He scored twice in the victory. The 25-year-old attempted to create danger all the time, and he finished four dribbles throughout the game, which is twice as much as any other player on the pitch.

Julian Àlvarez | Man City | 72 points

The reigning champions of the UEFA Champions League, Man City, hosted Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday with a sizable lead from the first leg. But the triple winners of the previous season needed to make sure they finished the job, and Julian Álvarez played a key role in making sure they did. Five minutes into the game, he curled in a superb corner for Manuel Akanji to open the score. Four minutes later, he caught goalkeeper Kamil Grabara off guard with a shot that went through his fingertips to make it 2-0.

Harry Kane | Bayern | 72 points

Harry Kane and his Bayern teammates were under pressure going into the second leg of their last-16 match in Bavaria, as they trailed Lazio 1-0. Fortunately for England’s manager Thomas Tuchel, the striker scored three goals to assist the home team win 3-0. Kane scored his team’s third goal halfway through the second half to seal the victory after he had opened the scoring late in the first.

Mohamed Elyounoussi | Copenhagen | 69 points

In less than ten minutes, Mohamed Elyounoussi gave Copenhagen something to be proud of, but they still had a mountain to climb. After 29 minutes, it was 2-1 thanks to a brilliant finish from the midfielder on a backheel from Orri Oskarsson. With three shots, equal to those of Erling Haaland and Julian Àlvarez, the Norwegian was his team’s most dangerous player the entire way. He also contributed more successful tackles than any other player during the match.
