Mbappe Admits Coaches Speak To Him ‘Badly’ Amid Transfer Talk 

Kylian Mbappe, who was chastised by Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique, said he is accustomed to coaches talking badly to him.

Mbappe struck three times as PSG beat Reims in Ligue 1, but coach Luis Enrique said afterwards that he was “not happy” with the forward. “I have nothing to say about the goals, but he can help the team in another way. I will talk about it with him first, but they are private conversations. Kylian is one of the best players in the world, but we want more,” he said.

The French champs’ 29 goals this season have come from Mbappe, 24, who leads all scorers in Ligue 1. He has only played in 11 games in the top tier. Real Madrid has reportedly lost interest in pursuing the World Cup winner, despite the fact that the Spanish team has been continuously linked to a departure from the club.

Mbappe insists his relationship with Luis Enrique is fine, however, telling reporters: “I’ve always worked well with the coaches I’ve had, like Didier Deschamps, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and so on. These are coaches who have spoken to me ‘badly’, so to speak – but it didn’t stop me form playing well and having a good relationship with them.

“I’m a player who’s very demanding of himself, so when I find that demand from my coaches then I’m very happy. I don’t need my manager to tell me I’m the best player in the world every day.”

Asked about the links to Madrid, he said while on international duty: “It’s not something that concerns the French national team,” began the France captain in an evasive manner. “You should come to Campus PSG and I’ll respond, the focus is on country above anything else for the next week.”

Mbappe is probably going to play when France plays Gibraltar on Saturday in the Euro 2024 qualifying match. Friday, November 24, sees PSG’s return to play against Monaco in Ligue 1.
