Controversial senior Head Bishop of International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, also known as Angel Obinim is now the butt of caustic jokes.

Former British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, has made jokes of the alleged sickness and arrest, suggesting he could slitter out of detention.

There has been reactions from within and without Ghana over the bishop’s activities and recent travails.

While some are vilifying him, others like Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the General Overseer of Prophetic Hill Chapel cautions that people should not be surprised to find Angel in heaven ahead of other supposedly righteous pastors.

But joining the fray, Ambassador Benjamin reportedly suggested the bishop could as well use his powers to slitter out of prison,

A report in Ghanweb quotes the ambassador reacting through his Twitter page, and saying there was no cause for alarm since Obinim’s trusted ‘angels’, Nimokafui and Ayantafri were on their way to fight for him.

He posted; #Obinim has been arrested??? I understand he’s being visited by his legal representatives, Messrs Nimokafui and Ayantafri. Or maybe he can turn into a snake and slither out of the police station?

Obinim has been a controversial cleric for a long period standing.

His antics include publicly flogging two teenagers, one of whom was pregnant, on live television, in August of 2016.

His reason was that they allegedly fornicated and conspired to abort a pregnancy.

The video of the flogging went viral attracting invectives on the bishop, a campaign for his prosecution and his arrest.

But his followers responded by trooping to the police station where he was held demanding that he be released.
