Regarding upsetting visuals and sounds that appeared in a social media post in 2022, Greenwood was accused of attempted rape, domestic abuse, and domineering behaviour.

In February 2023, all charges against the striker were dropped when the Crown Prosecution determined that, in light of the withdrawal of crucial witnesses and newly discovered evidence, there was no reasonable chance of a conviction.

However, United came to the conclusion that the striker could not continue his career at Old Trafford following a hostile reaction from fans to suggestions that the team was eager to reintegrate him into the squad.

Prior to Friday night’s 11 p.m. UK time deadline for most European teams, United is attempting to assist Greenwood in finding a new club. The striker, who last participated in a competitive match in January 2022, has reportedly been offered to Lazio, but head coach Maurizio Sarri must decide if he wants to keep him on his team.

THEEAGLE has learned that clubs in Germany, Italy, Spain and Turkey contacted United about signing Greenwood. It’s difficult for one club to make the jump, a source claimed, despite the fact that other clubs have searched particularly hard.

Any club that signed Greenwood would likely face opposition from supporters and women’s organisations. The Saudi Pro League has indicated that it would not be willing to sign Greenwood because of the possible harm his presence could do to the league’s reputation.
