Many Feared Trapped As Fire Guts WAEC Office In Lagos

In the early hours of Wednesday, chaos broke out as the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC headquarters in the Yaba neighborhood of Lagos State was completely destroyed by fire.

Several people are reportedly still trapped inside the structure as the fire spreads.

As of 7.15 am, the cause of the fire, which started at 6.50 am, had not been determined. The high-rise building’s midsection had caught fire, and those trapped inside could be heard urgently pleading for assistance.
