For the upcoming transfer season, Manchester United is reportedly prepared to revive their interest in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

With United defeating Barca in the Europa League’s quarterfinal play-off stage, the scenario is now reportedly different.
De Jong has had a close look at the advancements United is making under the direction of Erik ten Hag, his former Ajax manager. He is now reportedly considering moving to England, with talkSPORT reporting that the opportunity to team up with Casemiro in the center of the Red Devils’ midfield has a lot of attraction.
In the summer of 2023, United is anticipated to make a significant investment on a different alternative for their engine room, with England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham also featuring significantly on their desire list.
United has already won one title in 2022–23, the Carabao Cup, after defeating Newcastle in the championship game, and they are still in the running for the Europa League and FA Cup.
They are also on track to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League, which would be another helpful negotiating point in the case of De Jong’s possible departure from Camp Nou.
