Man Utd Boss Ten Hag Offers Update on Sancho’s Future After Talks

Jadon Sancho, a winger currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has received an update on his future from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag, the Dutchman, admitted there was ‘conflict’ with the attacker earlier in the season and disclosed that the club had undertaken conversations with the English winger when he was on loan with the Bundesliga team. The Manchester United manager has further asserted that at the conclusion of the current campaign, his disagreement with the forward will be settled.

Speaking to the media, Ten Hag said: “We are close in that process. We are visiting games, not only [Wednesday] – [I] will not say all the games, but we have seen more games from Dortmund where Jadon was performing. We had a visit with him, we talked with him, and we will keep going with this process.

On the dispute with Sancho, he added: “There was a conflict and let’s finish the season first. So stay away from this issue now – it is not important. He has the return [leg] of the semi-final, in the league it is not going that well for them. We have four important games in the league and the FA Cup final and then we will see.”

Ten Hag and Sancho had a serious falling out earlier in the season when the 24-year-old winger retaliated against Ten Hag for publicly criticising Sancho’s training intensity. Sancho was instantly dropped and frozen out by the 54-year-old CEO. The winger later made a loan return to Dortmund in January, when he helped the team get to the Champions League semifinals.

Sancho has been able to play frequently since joining the Bundesliga team, and he was outstanding during their 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal match. On Tuesday, May 7, he and Dortmund will play the Parisians in the rematch.
