Man United Boss Ten Hag Gives Update On Jadon Sancho Injury

Erik ten Hag says he will not “push this process” but wants Jadon Sancho back in his Manchester United plans “as soon as possible.”

The Red Devils’ first-team plans for the England winger were changed during the World Cup break, forcing him to miss a training camp in Spain so he could focus on getting healthy apart from the main group.

Sancho has now moved back to Carrington but hasn’t played in a competitive match for United since October 22 due to concerns about his overall fitness and conditioning.

When asked again about the timing of Sancho’s return to the United fold, Ten Hag responded to reporters by saying:

“I would like him back as soon as possible, but I can’t force this process. I have to show patience, although I don’t have patience because, you are right, we have a lack of options in the frontline. Jadon is one – when he is fit – who can contribute and then we have an extra option so we will have more chance of winning a lot of games. We have some hurdles still to take, but I think he’s in a good direction. I can’t force this process, so I don’t.”

Since joining United in the summer of 2021 for £75 million ($89 million), Sancho hasn’t always been at his best. In 52 games across all competitions, he’s scored eight goals and provided four assists.

When they meet Everton in the third round on Friday, United will be looking to capitalize on their recent collective form, which includes just one loss in their previous 16 games, to get off to a strong FA Cup start in 2022-23.
