Man In Police Net As Mutilated Body Of Ex-Lover Found In His Home

A 45 year old man has landed in police net after the mutilated body of his ex-lover was found in his house.

The man, Bankole Oginni was alleged to have invited the woman over via a phone call, but when she did not return home, her agitated daughter began a search that led to the shocking discovery.

The incident which happened in the Oke Aro area of Akure, Ondo State was burst open today, by the State Police Command.

According to the police, which has not reveled the identity of the equally 45-year-old woman, said she was found dead in the house of the suspect while some parts of her body had been removed.

It said the it was the daughter of the deceased that reported the matter, after seeing the lifeless body of her mother tied down with a rope and some parts of her body removed in the suspect’s house.

The state Police Public Relations Officer Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami , confirming the incident said: “A lady reported at the station that her mother’s ex-lover Bankole Oginni called and invited her (deceased) over to his place in the Oke Aro area of Akure and after she left for his house, she did not return and her phone was switched off.

“She traced her mother to the house, only to find her lifeless body in the room of the ex-lover, her legs and hands tied and her body opened with intestines removed.

Also, there were patches on her (the deceased) body that shows signs of hot water burns.

“Suspect who claimed to be a footballer is already in our custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue”.

In a related development last May, an 80-year-old woman had reportedly been raped to death inside her farm by hoodlums suspected to be herders.

The incident happened in the Costain area of Ore, Odigbo Council Area of Ondo State, leaving residents distraught.

The woman was said to have left for the farm and failed to return later that day, but her corpse was found in the farm a few days later, stripped naked after she had been allegedly raped by hoodlums suspected to be herders.
