A 20 year old man, Ezron Kumwenda has decided to take his own life, right on a tree, after he was disallowed from marrying his cousin.
Kumwenda who hailed Bonga village in Eastern Zambia, left a suicide note behind, saying his reason was not being allowed to marry the love of his life.
ISOFM NEWS broke the news of the suicide, quoting Muchinga Police Commanding Officer Kaunda Mubanga as saying that the love birds had dated for some time without knowing that they were first cousins.

Trouble started when they informed their respective families of their intention to tie the nuptial knot.
“After informing their respective parents, the two families could not approve of the union as it was discovered that the two love birds were first cousins.” Mr Mubanga explained.
According to Mubanga, Kumwenda could bear not getting married to his love and went and committed suicide.
Police were called in, and after visiting the Scene of the Suicide, they advised relatives to bury the body.

There was no case since both relatives and Police do not suspect any foul play in the matter.
The issue is stirring emotions, with observers wondering why a man could take his own life because he could not marry his cousin.
