Man Crushed To Death, Making Video Call With Girlfriend
A man has been crushed to death while making a video call with his girlfriend, in Siun, along the Abeokuta-Sagamu expressway, reports have said.
The 26 year old man has been identified as Olajide Asade and the accident involved a Mazda car driven by one Bolaji Balogun, a staff of Buas Farm, who was on his way to purchasing eggs from Obasanjo’s Farm.
Apparently overtaken by emotional excitement of the video call with his girlfriend, yet to be named, late Olajide did reckon that he was by the expressway.
His brother Azeez said they were on their way to visiting their mother in the Ajah area of Lagos from Kuto motorpark in Abeokuta where they boarded a bus.
But the vehicle developed a mechanical fault at Siun, Vanguard said.
While other passengers were standing by the roadside waiting for the driver to repair his vehicle, the deceased concentrated on his video call with his girlfriend and thereby lost concentration.
According to Azeez said, the video call had been on since the commencement of the journey from Kuto motor park in Abeokuta.
The deceased brother also said that they left their house situated at Ijoga Orile in Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun State very early the morning for the journey.
Suspicion that the Mazda car must have been on speed was ruled by Azeez, who confirmed that the car was on normal speed.

Speaking with newsmen, the driver of the car, Bolaji Balogun said that it was the deceased who rammed into his vehicle, but that did not stop the police from detaining him.
Meanwhile, the the corpse had since been deposited at the morgue while the driver has been detained in the police custody.
